LIONEL MESSI is happy to let Paco Alcacer leave Barcelona this summer.

Lionel Messi says Paco Alcacer can leave Barcelona

The Spaniard was once regarded as one of La Liga’s hottest prospects.

But after moving to the Nou Camp from Valencia in 2016 he’s struggled to establish himself.

European media outlet Don Balon say Messi - who is a hugely influential figure at the club - has told Barca bigwigs to let Alcacer leave.

Antoine Griezmann has been hotly tipped to move to Barca which would limit the 24-year-old’s game time even further.

Sky Sports suggested earlier this week that Southampton are sniffing around.

It’s suggested Villarreal and Celta Vigo are also keen.

Speaking to BeIN Sports last month, Alcacer said: "The team only thinks about the games and not on the league table. What is important is the game in the present, not the future.

"The only thing I do is try to work to help the team, to take advantage of the chances that present themselves and score on the chances you create.

“It's what I've always done and if I can do it with goals, even better."

LIONEL MESSI and Cristiano Ronaldo hold some incredible records between them.

Barca are flying high in the Spanish top tier this term.

Ernesto Valverde’s men are a hefty nine points clear of Atletico Madrid in second spot.
