Lionel Messi is reportedly trying to strike up as good relation with Philippe Coutinho as the one he had with Neymar.
Barcelona lost Neymar to PSG in the summer but have since landed Coutinho from Liverpool as his replacement.
The former Reds star has endured a slow start to life in Catalonia but got off the mark last week, scoring in Barca’s 2-0 victory over Valencia in the Copa del Rey.
And Spanish outlet Diario Gol say Messi has welcomed Coutinho into his inner circle.
It is said he believes a good relationship with the Brazil international can be key to Barcelona’s hopes of winning silverware both now and in the future.
Messi took Neymar under his wing after the forward signed from Santos back in the summer of 2013.
At the time, the Brazil international was nothing more than a raw diamond.
But four years at Barcelona saw him develop into one of the best footballers on the planet.
And Diario Gol say Messi, as well as Luis Suarez, are hoping the same can be done with Coutinho.
However, not everybody is happy about the 30-year-old’s treatment of the former Liverpool star.
Ousmane Dembele supposedly feels left out in the cold.
The France international signed from Borussia Dortmund back in the summer for a huge £120million.
