And the Brazilian’s agent has set a date to meet with Barcelona chiefs ahead of a proposed move to the Nou Camp.
The La Liga leaders spent all summer chasing the midfielder after losing Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.
And now it appears they have moved one step closer to securing the 25-year-old’s signature.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Liverpool have asked for €140million (£124.4m).
Philippe Coutinho looks set to leave Liverpool.
And Barcelona are happy to meet that demand, especially after pocketing £198m for Neymar.
Coutinho’s agent will fly out to Spain to meet with Barcelona chiefs on January 3, according to Sport.
The report adds that the fee will be paid in instalments, but there will be no reduction in the price.
Barcelona are said to be keen to conclude the deal within the first week of the new year as to leave time to source alternatives if the move falls through.
