Lucas Moura claims he is determined to work his way back into Paris Saint-Germain ‘s first-team despite being advised to consider signing for Arsenal in January.
The 25-year-old Brazilian scored 19 goals in 52 appearances for PSG last season but is yet to be handed a start this term under Unai Emery following the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer transfer window. Karma? England fans are sharing that video of Wales celebrating Iceland's goal Lucas has been linked with various Premier League sides for some time, even before his recent struggles, and ex-Chelsea defender Alex urged the winger to think about a move to the Emirates in the new year. However, Lucas has told UOL Esporte: ‘Now I eat by following rules. I don’t eat pizzas and barbecue food anymore, despite how much I miss them. ‘But I am concentrating on improving my physical performance. Whatever the situation with the national team, that is Tite’s decision. ‘I need to concentrate on improving at PSG. The season began in a difficult way for me, but my aim is to win back my starting place and the great moments that I had last year.’
Former Chelsea star Alex, though, believes his compatriot must move on from the Parc des Princes to boost his chances of game-time. He told L’Equipe: ‘If I was in his place, I would have already left to make an impact elsewhere. ‘Spanish football could suit him – he could take advantage of the space with his speed and technique.
‘Even if England does not seem favourable, I would like to see him at Arsenal. They play cleaner football, more technical. ‘He had contacts, I believe. That would be a good option for him this winter.’
