MANCHESTER UNITED are considering loaning Anthony Martial out in January after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman has failed to live up to Jose Mourinho's high expectations at United.

He has managed just 60 minutes all season - an uninspiring display against Brighton in which the Red Devils were deservedly beaten.

It saw the ex-Monaco man dropped from the squad for the following match, a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

There have been reports that Martial and Mourinho have fallen out in the past, with this summer being another example of their poor relationship.

During their pre-season tour of the United States, Martial left the camp early to be there for the birth of his baby.

The Special One was unhappy with his reluctance to return to the squad and fined him £180,000 - which did not go down well with the rest of the players.

Mourinho continually tried to offload the 23-year-old all summer, with reports in France stating that he went behind his boss' backs to offer a swap deal to Chelsea for Willian.

However, United chief Ed Woodward blocked all transfer offers and has offered Martial a new contract instead.

And it has now emerged that the Red Devils intend to loan out the young forward because of his lack of playing time.

It is becoming abundantly clear to United bigwigs that Mourinho will not be using Martial much, especially with Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard as options.

But they are certain Martial will become a world-class talent in the future and are not willing to let him go for good.

So they will look to loan him out to another club in January, according to The Sun.

United are also flat-out refusing to sell Martial because they would owe 50 percent of the profits to Monaco.

The France international joined the Red Devils in 2015 during Louis van Gaal's era.

The Dutchman was a big fan of Martial, who enjoyed a fine debut year in England.

But since Van Gaal's departure, life has been tough for the striker - who missed out on a place in France's World Cup winning squad this summer.
