MANCHESTER UNITED could yet sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit, reports say.
Manchester United want Real Madrid star Bale after passing on the chance to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
The Portugal international, who left the Red Devils back in the summer of 2009, has joined Serie A giants Juventus for a huge £105million.
Bale is currently seeking assurances from new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui as Manchester United continue to keep tabs on his situation.
And the Manchester Evening News say that, if the Wales international decides he wants out, Real are ready to let Jose Mourinho secure his top target.
Mourinho sees Bale as the missing piece in his attacking jigsaw.
The 28-year-old could be the solution to their right wing woes - an area the club have struggled in.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are better suited to the opposite flank.
As is Alexis Sanchez who, after scoring just three times last term, is keen to prove himself.
The MEN say United could secure Bale’s signature for £105m.
And Express Sport understands any money from his sale could then be splashed on PSG forward Neymar.
The Brazil international has been earmarked at their top target in the wake of Ronaldo’s exit.
But signing him will not be easy with the 26-year-old likely to cost more than the £200m PSG paid Barcelona for him a year ago.
Meanwhile, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barrett has provided an update on his Real future last month.
"I think he is in the top three or four players on earth, so for somebody like him, he wants to play,” he said.
"It's not about money and not about anything else. He wants to play and wants to win the Ballon d'Or, and I think he is capable of doing it.
"I think we have to have a chat with Real Madrid and see where we are going.
“Obviously he wants a better year than he had last year. He wants to play more, and that's paramount to him."
