Maurizio Sarri insists Chelsea need to take ‘another step’ before challenging for the Premier League title and says Liverpool will be Manchester City’s biggest challengers this term.
Chelsea have made a 100% start to their Premier League campaign and will look to continue that record with a win against Cardiff at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Liverpool are another club to have made a 100% start and Jurgen Klopp’s men look primed for a title challenge after a £160million investment in the summer.
And, though Sarri hopes his side can compete, he believes the Reds will be battling with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side for the title.

"At the moment I can answer Manchester City or Liverpool," said Sarri, when asked who he felt were title challengers.
"We need another step I think to be at the same level. I think so, but I hope not.
"It’s very difficult. The gap last season was 30 points so I think to go above 30 points in one season is very, very difficult.
"I think we must improve but we can improve."

Sarri’s comments indicate he does not believe Manchester United or Tottenham are strong enough to win the title this term.
Jose Mourinho’s men have lost two of their opening four fixtures, while Spurs allowed their 100% start to slip with a 2-1 defeat to Watford before the international break.
