Andreas Pereira has told Jose Mourinho he is willing to play wherever he is required when he was asked by the United manager his preferred role.
The Brazilian began his career as a forward but has since dropped back in to midfield and he started Manchester United's first pre-season tour game against Club America in the No 6 role.
Some fans on Twitter remarked they wanted to see the 22-year-old playing further forward, but, he has explained he's happy to contribute wherever necessary.
"The manager asked me what position I will play and I said I will play any position he would like,” Pereira told manutd.com . “Now I am in this position as a number six. I will try to do my best and of course everyone is helping me a lot, including the manager, by telling me what to do."
Having spent the past two seasons on loan in La Liga Pereira is ready to fight for his place in Mourinho's first team squad and has revealed how Michael Carrick has been helping him.
“Carrick is also helping me in every training session and it is very important. It is not only them, but all of the other coaches as well. They're helping me a lot and I am learning new things every day," Pereira added.
“Michael was one of the best [central midfielders] in the world and one of the best that Manchester United ever had. He gives me tips, he tells me in training what to do and it is very easy when he tells you. You pick it up straight away and it is very easy to learn from him.”
