MTIBWA Sugar is expected to face Singida United at Namfua stadium in Singida during an ongoing Vodacom Premier League (VPL) encounter Friday.
The newly promoted Singida United sits an impressive fourth, hosting the one-time champions Mtibwa Sugar in a game expected to draw the attention of football fans across the nation because of the quality on the show of both teams’ players.
Singida has accumulated 36 points from the 22 games played while Mtibwa Sugar sits sixth with 27 points.
Azania Post contacted Mtibwa Sugar Information Officer Tobias Kifaru who said that it is a very difficult game because Singida United signed quality players and they doing well in VPL even despite the fact that it is their first season in the top flight.
“We’ve arrived in Singida, it is a very tough game ahead, but all we need is three points no matter what,” he said.
Singida United Director Festo Sanga said that they are well prepared because they need to complete to finish among the top three sides in the league this season.
“We are ready for the fighting, we know the quality of Mtibwa Sugar. We need to win this game to go up the league standing,” he said.
Mtibwa Sugar knocked out Azam FC in the quarter-final of the Azam Sports Federation cup last week while Singida United eliminated VPL defending champion Young Africans in the same rounds.
Total of 335 goals has been scored so far in the VPL.
Giants Simba and Yanga are involved in a race for the Vodacom Premier League title.
