POLICE in Dodoma region in collaboration with the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) have nabbed a student of Mzumbe University in connection with bribery allegations.
Speaking the Dodoma Regional Police Commander, Lazaro Mambosasa said the student identified as Andrew Kevella was nabbed at St Gasper conference Center where the Tanzania Football Federation is holding its General Election.
“Yes we nabbed him in one of toilets in the conference with over 500,000/- and a piece of paper written names of members of TFF who are eligible voters in the election”, he said.
He said the student whose his father is one of contestant intended to bribe some TFF members with the money.
“We urge all contestants not to engage in any kind of corruption during election proceedings, otherwise stern measures would be taken to the culprits, emphasized RPC Mambosasa.
