   The outfit’s manager, Phillip Alando, disclosed to its website the leadership is working on a report by the squad’s head coach, Aristica Cioaba, which includes registration of players.

  The team is presently on a five-week rest after completing the 2016/17 season.  Alando said the club has already contacted the players it needs for the next season.
  “We have already contact a section of Tanzanian players but we won’t mention their names,” Alando revealed.

  “Some of the players are close to sealing agreement with the team.  I would like to inform people registration of players is in progress, we will mention a player’s name once we seal a contract with him.”

  Meanwhile, the outfit’s technical bench has selected five players from the youth squad that will join the rest of the former for the 2017/18 season.

  The players include defenders, Abbas Kapombe, Godfrey Elias, Mohamed Omary, midfielder Stanslaus Ladislaus and striker, Yahaya Zaid.

    Alando said the inclusion of the players will increase the number of players from the youth squad, who are featuring for the first team.

 “The team, has been promoting at least two players from its youth outfit every season. This time around, Cioaba has come up with five names, the move proves Azam FC academy has improved a lot,” the official revealed.

    “Azam FC’s next season’s squad will have many players from the outfit’s academy. I think this is the only team with players from its youth team.”

Players who have been recruited from the outfit’s youth side are goalkeepers, Aishi Manula, Metacha Mnata, defenders Ismail Gambo ‘Kussi’, Gadiel Michael, midfielders Himid Mao, Mudathir Yahya, Abdallah Masoud and forward, Shaaban Idd. The outfit’s players from the youth team, who have been loaned to other clubs, are midfielder, Bryson Raphael (Mbeya City) and forward Kelvin Friday (Mtibwa Sugar
