Liverpool’s Coutinho has been subject of much speculation as Barcelona consider launching another attempt to take him to the Nou Camp this month.
And Neymar, who only left the Catalan outfit in the summer, has been offering his friend some advice.
However, Neymar’s preferred option would be for Coutinho to join him in the French capital.
But he respects that the midfielder’s heart is set on a move to the La Liga leaders.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Neymar would like to see Coutinho join the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Barcelona.
And he has apparently sent messages of support encouraging him to join Ernesto Valverde’s side.
Don Balon also add that a deal could be concluded “within hours.”
It is also suggested that the Liverpool star would become the second most expensive transfer of all time - behind Neymar’s £198million summer switch to PSG.
The two players are set to feature alongside each other at the World Cup in Russia next year.
There are recent reports that the 25-year-old has gone on strike at Anfield in a bid to push through a move.
Nike also offered the option to have Coutinho’s name on a Barcelona shirt on their website last week, sparking rumours the deal was close to completion.
The link was quickly pulled down and neither Nike nor Barcelona commented on the leak.
