It is time for Cristiano Ronaldo to do as he did last season and wake up for the second half of the campaign, the half in which the trophies that he loves so dearly are handed out.
With 16 goals so far this campaign, the winger has been disappointing and can claim only four of those to have come in the bread and butter competition of LaLiga.
That tally is two less than last year and yet, at the time, the way Ronaldo started 2016/17 was itself a major drop-off and led to many questions being asked of the Portuguese talisman.
However he returned to bag 24 goals in the second part of the campaign as Real soared to the league and Champions League double, the latter seeing the player hit some of his best form.
It is exactly that sort of sprint to the finish that Madrid need to happen once again.
With Deportivo La Coruna arriving in the capital on Sunday afternoon and striking colleagues Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale both fit, Los Blancos desperately need Ronaldo to step up and become their inspiration once again.
