REAL MADRID are threatening Manchester United star David De Gea by eyeing a deal for Liverpool target Alisson, it has been claimed.
Real Madrid wants Manchester United goalkeeper De Gea to be their No 1, despite a deal falling through in 2015.
The Spain international came within minutes of moving to the Bernabeu - only for a faulty fax machine to see the transfer collapse.
Real Madrid’s interest, however, has remained with Florentino Perez a known admirer.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon say that, in order to put the United star under pressure, they are considering Roma’s Alisson.
Express Sport understands the Brazil international is on Liverpool’s transfer list.
The Reds have been heavily tipped to make a move, with Jan Oblak a potential alternative.
Roma have even released statements denying Liverpool were close to signing the 25-year-old.
And Don Balon say Real are using their interest to pressure De Gea into making a decision.
Speaking just this week, he insisted he was happy at United and solely focused on the World Cup.
"Usually I'm always calm, the important thing now is to start the World Cup on June 15th," he said.
"Is the most important thing. Do well in Russia, have a good role and do things in the best possible way.
"Future? I'm happy where I am, happy. Now, very focused on the national team."
Real are reportedly willing to pay £53m to sign Alisson.
And they want De Gea to either force a United exit - or face staying at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.
