Roberto Firmino reveals why he will never be happy at Anfield

ROBERTO FIRMINO has admitted he is a perfectionist and will never be fully happy at Liverpool - despite his stunning form.

Roberto Firmino has become one of Liverpool’s star players in recent seasons and has come on leaps and bounds under Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian is now firmly the Reds’ first-choice striker and is favoured for his link-up play and work-rate.

However, the former Hoffenheim man has begun to add goals to his game and already has 19 in all competitions this season.

But, despite his improvement, Firmino has admitted he is never happy and will always demand more from himself.

Roberto Firmino has admitted he always wants to add more goals to his game

“No, I am never happy – I always want more from myself,” Firmino said.

“That will not stop until I’ve finished my playing career.

“I dream aloud and I want more and more from myself.

“I always enjoy scoring for my team and I always plan to do my best and try and help the team with goals

Roberto Firmino has revealed he is a perfectionist and is never fully happy

“That makes me very happy because I know I am helping the team when I score.

“I intend to score as many goals as I can to continue helping us to win.”

Firmino is clearly valued at Anfield, with Klopp calling him the “engine” of his Liverpool team earlier in the season

And the Brazil international has admitted he likes hearing these words of encouragement from the manager and fans but will never let them go to his head.“Although I don’t follow much on social media, every time I read or listen to these nice comments, I feel a very privileged person,” he added.

“But I do not allow these kind of comments to go to my head

“I want to give more and more in the next match.”

Firmino has made 35 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring 19 goals and providing 10 assists.
