TANZANIAN international footballer, Mbwana Samatta has said he is sad and wonders why Confederation of African Football (CAF) has withdrawn African Player of the Year (Based in Africa).
Samatta won the award in 2016 when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon who plays for Borussia Dortmund won best African Player of the Year.
“I wonder why they decided to do so, at first they brought a list of all categories but later the award wasn't given,” said Samatta.
He also said that this year he voted for Aubameyang and not Mohamed Salah who won, well, bad luck my votes didn’t work properly.
Salah, (25), accumulated 625 votes, voters are National team coaches, teams captains and a special group of journalists.
