The defending Mapinduzi Cup champions, Azam FC will play their last card tonight when they will facing Simba SC at Amaan stadium in Zanzibar.
Azam lost 1-0 against Ugandan giant URA yesterday (Friday) and if loses against Simba, will have been thrown out of the tournament in a group stage.
The group A teams , Azam and Simba must win if they want to qualify for the semi-final stage.
URA leads the group with seven points, While Azam has accumulated four points in three matches equals to Simba , but Simba has played two matches.
Simba needs three points in today match. This is the last match for Msaimbazi giants.
Azam FC Information officer Jaffar Idd Maganga explained that they are not ready to leave the tourney at an earlier stage.
“We need to defend our title and today we must scoop the three points. This is important. We are not looking at who we are facing,” he said.
