TANZANIA’s Simba SC has landed safely in Cairo, Egypt ready for the second leg of Confederation Cup of Africa (CAF) against Al Masry.
During first leg that played at National Stadium Dar es Salaam Simba were held to s 2-2 draw, making the Egyptian side favorites to progress into the group stage.
Simba needs to win away from home to guarantee a place into the next stage of the competition.
Simba needs to be careful if need to qualify for the next round as North African teams play football in and outside the pitch.
Ulimboka Mwakingwe who was in the 2003 squad when Simba sent giants Zamalek packing in Egypt Simba players that they need to be ready psychologically when they face the Egyptians.
“Simba must be careful of everything because North Africa teams are very dangerous. Simba must strong mentally before going out into the pitch,” he said.
Simba has knocked out Zamalek in the 2003 Africa Champion League encounter and qualified for the group stage.
No other Tanzanian side has ever knocked out any North African opposition to date. It remains a historical moment in Tanzanian football.
