Simba SC assistant coach, Jackson Mayanja, revealed that the Sunday draw against Mtibwa Sugar was due to the effort of the individual player, the Ugandan striker Emmanuel Okwi.
Okwi scored an 'evening' goal at 90+ minutes to equalize the Manungu based giant earlier goal of 35 minutes of the first half from Stamili Mbonde.
It seemed like Mtibwa will won the away game at Uhuru stadium up to the last minutes before Okwi equalized the goal through a free kick out of 18 yard.
Mayanja outlined that Mtibwa was very tough in the game and if not the experience of Okwi, Simba could have lost the game and observe Mtibwa at the top of the table.
He said: “Okwi have saved us, we got an important point from his indivudual ability. I really appriciate on what he and the whole team have done, they have played well"
“It’s a normal things to have players who are above their fellow player and Okwi is one of them, we have very exprianced players who signed us in regstration window, and you see now how they are saving us,” added Mayanja.
Msimbazi based coach added that every football fans knew that Simba have a widen squad but what happened on Sunday is that Mtibwa was good than them.
“We will go back and try to correct all the mistake we saw on the pitch. You we hold a ball for long time but Mtibwa were strong than us, they block every attacking and mission we plan,” insists Mayanja.
