Secretary General for Athletics Tanzania (AT) Wilham Gidabudai who is in the United Kingdom for the ongoing World Athletics Championships today met president of IAAF.
Gidabudai described the meeting the IAAF president Sir Sebastian Core as very good for the development of Athletics in the country.
The AT official could not give more details on what they agreed saying he will disclose after briefing executive committee if his association.
"What I can say is that i had a very good meeting with Sir Sebastian Core we discussed a lot of developmental things..... Tanzania will benefit a lot "he said.
In a related development Gidabudai said he had discussions with Italian sports investor Gianni Demadonna on the possibility of the investor to sponsor Tanzania sports gears.
He said the Italian has agreed to sponsor the country on condition that AT provide him with its calender of its local and international events.
And the other condition is the government of Tanzania stand on tax exemption.
"I had a very good discussions with Gianni Demadonna, he has agreed to sponsor our athletes, Demadonna is not new to Tanzania athletics "he said.
If the deal with Demadonna matealize it will be a relief to Tanzania athletics who have been without a sponsor for many years.
The last time athletics had a sponsor was in 2008 when a Chinese Based firm Lining was sponsoring the team for Beijing Olympics, but it collapsed after it emerged that Tanzania Olympics (TOC) had entered sponsorship deal with Puma.
