The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has announced seven candidates who qualified to participate in the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) election which is expected to take place tomorrow in Dar es Salaam.
TFF spokesperson Alfred Lucas though his statement said a total of 44 members will participate in the election which will be conducted at the National Stadium conference Hall to elect the central council of TPLB.
According to Lucas, the 16 members represent premier league clubs, 24 from first division while four members from the second division; the TPLB members will arrive at the hall at 8:00 am, before TFF president Wallace Karia to officially open the event.
Lucas added that the voting for Chairman and Vice chairman position, club’s representative positions will be done by premier league members only.
“Seven candidates have been approved to participates in the elections after the current committee ruling period has already expired,” he said.
He detailed that the new elected committee from tomorrow’s election will be ruling for four years.
He cited the candidates including Clement Andrew Sanga (Yanga) and Hamad Yahya Juma (Mtibwa Sugar) who will contest for chairperson position.
Others are Shani Christoms Mligo (Azam FC) who is the only candidate vying for chairperson position.
Three club’s representative position in the TPLB administrative committee position contester are Hamisi Mshuda Madaki (Kagera Sugar) and Ramadhani Marco Mahano (Lipuli).
Almasi Jumapili Kasongo from Ashanti United FC is the only candidates who appeared for division one club’s representative although there two positions for division one.
Second division clubs have only one position in TPLB administrative committee representative and the only candidate is Edgar William Chibura from Abajalo FC.
