Tanzania’s Taifa stars came from behind to force a one-one draw against Rwanda popularly known as ‘The Amavubi’ at the CCM Kirumba stadium in Mwanza for 2018 Africa Nations Championship qualifier.

It took 18 minutes for the Amavubi to get an opening goal but Taifa Stars denied them after a nice equalizing penalty kick from Azam midfielder Himid Mao Mkami in 34th minute of the first half.

The pair will face-off on Saturday 22nd July at the Kigali stadium in the return leg. The winner from Stars or Amavubi will meet either Uganda or South Sudan on another round looking for the 2018 Chan qualification.
