Tanzania: VPL second leg starts with bizzare records

SECOND half of the Vodacom Premier League (VPL) in Tanzania started last weekend with 16 teams taping part making different records.

Records from football federation show that a total of 25 goals were netted in 16 rounds.

Mwadui FC forward Awadhi Juma scored the opening goal in the round at the 11th minutes against Singida United.

Singida United

Singida United against Mwadui FC recorded five goals, Keny Ally netted the winning goal during injury time to help Singida United register 3-2 win.

Nine goals netted in the first half belong to 25 goals in 16 rounds of Vodacom Premier League in the East African nation.

A total of 234 goals have so far been netted in the Vodacom Premier League from the first round which kicked off on August 26, 2017.

Emanuel Okwi

Emanuel Okwi is still the top scorer with 12 goals, followed by teammate John Bocco 9 goals and Habibu Kyombo 8 goals. Both Mohamed Rashid and Obrey Chirwa have 7 goals.

John Bocco, Emanuel Okwi and Shiza Kichuya combined have 27 goals. No any forwards has reached 20 goals.
