Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has said that Tanzania lost around 3 million US dollars from FIFA in last four years due to fraud and misuse of football money.

TFF Secretary General Wilfred Kidao outlined that what is killing the country’s football is mismanagement and poor leadership, especially in financial issues.

Kidao added that they decided to clean all the evils of the Tanzania football governing body and all the federation’s past leaders.

“Many Tanzanian are now talking about Michael Wambura issues but I want them to know that is not only Wambura, we are dealing with all people who were involved with the misuse federation funds.

“FIFA are now blaming the Federation for financial mismanagement, and they refused to offer us development money due to the behavior of few people, we will not accept this, all these people will be accountable,” said Kidao.

TFF Disciplinary Committee slapped a life ban on Michael Wambura to participate in any football-related activities after he was found to have been involved in illegal cash transactions belonging to the federation.

The committee said Wambura had accumulated shillings 84 million from the illegal transactions and has been ordered to return the said amount to the accounts of Tanzania Football Federation.

It was claimed that Wambura who is the vice president of TFF, had been forging the documents in collaboration with former TFF president Jamal Malinzi and Secretary General Celestine Mwesigwa.
