UEFA Champions League Preview: Real Madrid v PSG tonight

By Azania Post Reporter

It is another UEFA Champions League night on Wednesday when Real Madrid hosts PSG at Santiago Bernabeu, 22:45 East Africa Time.

It is not simple to predict the final whistle who will win due to the quality of players both teams they have.

Both spent a considerable amount of money to sign big names in football in recent seasons.

Real Madrid boasts the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Isco and Gareth Bale while PSG have most expensive player Neymar JR in their ranks, as well as Edison Cavani, Kylian Mbape and Angel Di Maria.

Real Madrid’s season in La Liga has been close to a disaster, languishing in fouth, 17 points behind leaders Barcelona.

The Zinedine Zidane men do not have any injuries for the encounter, but they do have one significant suspension. Dani Carvajal is serving a Champions League suspension he received for a deliberate yellow against APOEL.

Where either Varane or Nacho will slot in his place at right back.

Ceballos is also questionable, leaning towards being out.

PSG have one injury of their own in Thiago Motta.

PSG, have been dominant in the French Ligue 1 for a few seasons now.

While that’s not really a huge feat, they won their Champions’ League group, which included the Germany giants Bayern Munich.

The attacking trio of Neymar, Cavani, and Mbappe has consistently been one of the best attacks in world football this season and helped set a Champions League record for goals scored in the group stage.

Truly, they are a force to be reckoned with and one Real sincerely needs to worry about over these two legs.

Real do have the advantage of playing the first leg at home, though they haven’t been great there either.

Possible lineup for Real Madrid: Navas; Nacho, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema

While PSG possible lineup: Areola; Yuri, Thiago, Marquinhos, Alves; Verratti, Rabiot, Di Maria; Mbappe, Neymar, Cavani.
