Uganda: Azam FC gets first preseason win against URA away

Azam FC posted their first win when they defeated Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) 2-0 in a friendly match played in Kampala on Friday.

The Chamazi-based side are in Uganda tour, preparing for this year’s Mainland Premier League set to kick off next week.

The team’s head coach, Aristica Cioaba, fielded a second string side, resting first team players who failed to produce wins in the team’s first two friendly matches which they drew.

The first 11 team drew 2-2 against Uganda Combine and again drew 1-1 with Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA).

Two goals in Friday’s game were scored by striker Yahaya Mohammed in each half.

He scored the first goal in the 19th minute, adding another in the 47th minute.

The youth side showcased a superb game than the senior side which played in the first two matches.

The team’s defenders were too smart for the Kampala side to penetrate, with goalie Mwadini Ally doing a good job of not allowing the home side to concede a goal.

The Tanzania side are today set to play Onduparaka in their fourth match at the Nambole Stadium.

The tour will end tomorrow after playing Vipers FC in a match to be staged at St Mary’s grounds, Kitende suburban area.

Azam FC were: Mwadini Ally, Swaleh Abdallah, Hamimu Karim, Abdallah Kheri, David Mwantika, Stephan Kingue, Idd Kipagwile/Braison Raphael 57th, Salmin Hoza/Frank Domayo 84th , Yahaya Mohammed/YahyaZayd 70th, Enock Atta Agyei/Masoud Abdallah 55th and Joseph Mahundi/Ramadhan Singano 81st.
