KRC Genk striker Mbwana Samatta has undergone surgery after getting a knee injury in last Sunday's Belgian Pro League game with his Club against Lokeren.
Reports from KRC Genk club said that the Tanzanian international is now in good condition after a successful minor operation.
Through to his Instagram page Samatta wrote: “I would like to let everyone know that my surgery went well and I am on my road to recovery.
“I would like to thanks God, My medical team and my supporter, I have received so many massages from all over the world and I am very grateful to each and every one for your kindly words”.
Samatta is expecting to come back to Taifa Stars match against Uganda in March next Year for the African qualification (AFCON 2019).
Samatta has been side-lined for eight weeks after he was discovered to have torn in his knee muscles.
