AT last, South African football powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns has signed former Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt today (Tuesday) for an undisclosed contract.
It has been a long time dream for the retired athlete to play professional football.
Former Africa Champion's league winners Mamelodi Sundowns announced the registration of Usain Bolt earlier Tuesday at on a press conference.
Speculation over his capture was rife on Monday but official registration was announced early Tuesday that Bolt is officially a Mamelodi Sundowns player.
Bolt, a Manchester United fan, has long expressed his desire to play professional football but could not find a suitable team. He has long held ambition to play for the English giants.
Sundowns is at the top of South Africa's ABSA Premiership.
Born on August 21, 1986, in Jamaica, he is the first person to hold 100 and 200 meter World athletic record.
He is the reigning Olympic champion in the three events. Due to his dominance and achievements in sprint competition, he is widely considered as the greatest sprinter of all time.
