Congolese midfielder Papy Kabamba Tshishimbi who was set to join Young Africans yesterday failed to arrive.

Journalists who went to cover his coming at the Julius Nyerere International Airport failed to get a glimpse of a soccer player when the plane landed.

The midfielder had agreed to play for Yanga and he was expected to sign the contract with Yanga had he arrived.

Yanga secretary general Charles Mkwasa said yesterday that communication with the player was disrupted in the last minute when he was supposed to be leaving for the Kinshasa airport despite promising to arrive in Dar es Salaam with the plane leaving at that time.

“I have been communicating with him but abruptly the commutation was cut off. I do not know what went wrong,” Mkwasa said, noting that Yanga was still negotiating with Mbabane Swallows, his current club, on his release.

The Congolese was set to replace Zambian Justice Zulu who could not continue with Yanga.
