Defending Championship Yanga Africans has defeated Kagera Sugar 2-1, the away match held at Kaitaba Stadium, Kagera, in round six of the Vodacom Premier League.
Thanks to Ibrahimu Ajibu and Obrey Chirwa Jangwani who scored two goals which enabled the team to attain all three points.
Today’s Victory has made Yanga to accumulate 12 points and lead the table; while waiting for unpredictable result of tomorrow’s match between Simba SC and Mtibwa Sugar to be held at Uhuru stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Chirwa was the first to score a goal in 40 minutes of the first half after received good assist ball from Ibrahimu Ajibu, Chirwa has using his fastest to net the ball. First half ended visitor Yanga Africa lead 1-0.
Second half has started in high pressure for the both sides, but Yanga was eager to win the game by any means. Chirwa paid tribute to Ajibu who kicked a shoot out of 18-yard area, and left Tanzania one goalie Juma Kaseja of Kagera Sugar ‘dilemma’ knowing nothing to do. In 51 minutes Kagera Sugar got a consolation goal through Jaffari Salumu.
After the match Yanga Assistant coach Shadrack Nsajigwa said "The game was a bit tough, it was not that simple to win, but eventually we grabbed three points from the lake zone. It’s was very important game us, at least now we’ve back to our position on the top league table".
