TANZANIA Yanga SC has revealed that the secret behind their recent performances in recent VPL matches is due to make full payments to all past arrears to their players.
Yanga win against Stand United Monday saw them draw level on points with leaders Simba.
“All player are paid their salaries on time and bonuses,” the club’s competition committee chairperson, Hussein Nyika said in Dar es Salaam.
He refuted rumours circulating in the social media that his team had not paid salaries to their players.
According to him, the team has also promised huge prizes for players if they win the second leg match against Township Rollers in Gaborone, Botswana.
''There is moral in the team because all players are paid their salaries and bonuses and were are sure of the win in Gaborone,” he said.
He said as a team they have already talked to players promising them huge if they qualify for next step in African Champions.
Meanwhile, Yanga flew to Botswana on Monday morning after their win in the VPL game against Stand United.
According to Yanga information officer Dismas Ten, the team arrived safely in Gaborone and expects to start training this evening.
Yanga was destroyed 2-1 at home in their first encounter against Township Rollers at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
