Defending Mainland Premier League champions Yanga Sports Club will be hosting Majimaji FC in the 18th round of the competition at the National Stadium 16:00 E.A.T. Wednesday.
The Dar es Salaam based giants are currently in second in the league standings after 17 rounds of matches this season, and will be looking for a win to maintain pressure on the runaway leaders Simba and defend their title for the fourth year running.
Yanga Information Officer Dismas Ten told Azania Post in an interview that the game will be like a final, and they will fight to the end to make sure that they win.
“Majimaji is the good team, but we need three important points, we will play like a final to attain maximum points. Fans are welcomed to witnesses good football,’’ he said.
Majimaji official Spokesman Onesmo Ndunguru has issued a warning to the referees who will officiate the game that they should be fair and let a good team to win the match.
“We need referee to translate all 17 laws of football well, so that a good side can win the game. But we will also be happy if we can even manage a draw but the aim is to win and attain three points,” he said.
Yanga are looking to narrow the gap on Simba who have 41 points and they will be in action tomorrow before both sides turn to Africa competitions.
